This Elmhurst renovation brought a younger, art-forward sensibility to a traditionally detailed home. The homeowners had a strong design point of view, with a deep appreciation for modern art, sculptural forms, and interiors that felt both elevated and livable. Having completed renovations in the past, they understood the complexity of the process and, while navigating family life with young children during COVID, sought a trusted design partner to help bring a cohesive vision to life.

Rather than reworking the home structurally, the project focused on refining the experience of the home through thoughtful planning, edited design decisions, and a strong sense of continuity. Spaces were carefully tailored to support both everyday family life and entertaining, including a custom bench element that defines the family room and lounge while preserving openness between them. Throughout the home, sculptural furnishings, collected artwork, and a restrained palette create a calm, layered backdrop that feels personal rather than prescribed. A subsequent backyard renovation completed the vision, transforming the outdoor spaces into a resort-inspired extension of the home and reinforcing the effortless connection between daily living and hospitality.
